Guidelines for Judicial Endorsement by WLAC

Candidates seeking endorsement from WLAC will be asked to meet the following requirements:

  •  Submit a resume

  • Submit any campaign materials (if judicial election)

  • Submit a copy of your judicial application (if applying for appointment)

  • Interview with at least one member of the WLAC nominating committee

  • Optionally attend a Board meeting to introduce yourself to the board

  • Submit to the Board via the nominating committee member a letter responding to the following:

    • Describe your demonstrated and substantial record of commitment, with consideration for length of commitment and the types and level of impact, to supporting the advancement of women in the legal profession.

    • Describe ways that you have demonstrated commitment to equal rights for women in general.

    • What do you see as the obstacles for women in the legal profession at present?

    • What attributes do you bring to the bench that will make you a good judge?

    • Describe one of your greatest failures and how you responded to it.

All submissions should be attached to a single email sent to womenlawyers@gmail.com, with the subject line: “Judicial Endorsement- First Name Last Name”
